My 50th birthday major body health goal - to have abs at age 50. It wasn't looking good with a series of injuries that were tricky to heal. Then discovered cold plunging and good physical therapy and changed my workout and I was able to accomplish my goal. Merry Christmas 🎄

Be careful with any SHOULD that you are trying to operationalize. Suggestion: IF you do ---> pursue this avenue (akin to the alignment problem), the common cliche' - the road to hell is paved with good intentions = a good conceptual tool/meme -> to reduce the likelihood that you don't do something unintentionally destructive, when attempting to solve a highly complex problem like giving Grok a "healthy" moral constitution.

@GrantHBrennerMD Another example (feel free to use as I am not on Twitter due to having several "hot patients" needing my time right now if you want to continue this thread) the word TRAUMA or I was traumatized by my ice cream melting before I could eat it :)

Great call out Jeffrey. Let me offer a psychological perspective (a rough but equcated guess) as to What may be making it more likely for that person IMMEDIATELY dismissing your lengthy caption for Intagram based on the em-dash. If you have read Thinking Fast and Slow and studied neuroscience and psychology then you may be able to get this deeply: People who spend a lot of there attentional and cognitive daily energy allowance too much on social media, screen time, you can safely bet /assume that they are also -sleep deprived, majorly which means their mitochondria in their thinking, analyzing, and behavirial response will be cranky and tired because mitochondria absolutey require decent sleep to function well AND I can safey assume such a person VERY LIKELY ALSO does not get enough SUNSHINE which reinforces the assumption they their mitochondria are likely spazzing out some of the time and creating what I call "INFLAMMED TIRED MIND TENDENCIES" = tendency for false positives for things that look wrong or fake will absolutely go up (that is part of what happened here). I can go on if anyone is interested...tomorrow after I see my patients I will check here again and if one person if still interesting in what I am trying to explain here please let me know and I will spend more time and energy bringing this type of analysis for what happened to Jeffrey right here for you.

Haha I love this 😂 I remember writing a lengthy caption for an Instagram post recently and someone immediately called it out as ‘AI’ If you think that the em-dash (which is a standard piece of punctuation) automatically means ChatGPT, it just tells me your grasp of basic grammar and punctuation is on the floor

Actually The Republican Party has another option: Realize that no matter how smart you are, how good you are at persuading other people to do what you want them to do, how much money & power you think you have, YOU CANNOT WIN this CORRUPTED BEYOND REVERSIBILTY UNITED STATES POLITICAL GAME. It WAS GREAT, my opinoin unless we somehow start with a new UPDATED "political operating system = aka updated CONSTITUTION" The best option from my meager perspective, is to follow JOSHUA from WAR GAMES: USING GAME THEORY and any other USEFUL THEORY - the CURRENT U.S. POLITICAL CANNOT BE PLAYED AS IT CURRENTLY IS. MAJOR CHANGES MUST BE MADE IN ORDER FOR ANYONE OR ANYTHING to "WIN IT" For now that is why my meager recommendation is to: STOP PLAYING THIS CORRUPT, BROKEN UNWINNABLE U.S POLITICAL GAME. until a MAJOR UPDATE is made...

Hi Jeffrey, Thank you 🙏 My 50th birthday goal was to be been in better shape than when I was 25yo. It was a huge struggle at times but in the last few weeks it all started to come together. And yes Dr. Fuhrman 6 time NYT best selling books (Eat to Live, etc...) was one of my earlier mentors and he was big on that the best doctors would also be the healthiest doctors. That we physicans have a duty to embody & be exemplars of healthy living. Merry Christmas to you, Jeffrey and to your loved ones. 🌲🎄

@kevinnbass If you ever want to have another conversation regarding this please feel free to reach out again. The only way for those of us who are independent thinkers and still want to treat patients is to create your own private practice that you design.

I only wanted to be a doctor. I loved being with patients. I wanted an intellectual career. But only as a hobby. One step at a time. Now I cannot unsee what I've seen. Everything has changed. I have changed more in the past month than the past year, more in the past year than in the past 5, more in the past 5 years than in my entire life. Who knows where things will go.

ACTION reigns supreme in your MIND. ACTION especially any ACTIONS/BEHAVIORS you do with regularity is the stimulus to UPDATE YOUR MINDS OPERATING SYSTEM. Why DOING SOMETHING repeatedly (A HABIT) holds much more weight in your MIND than THINKING ABOUT DOING SOMETHING repeatedly (Also A HABIT).

@elonmusk Anyone working on AR glasses made for Grok? From my experience between ChatGPT, Perplexity and Grok, Grok does the best job hands down in voice mode being able to converse and facilitate thinking.

@GrantHBrennerMD Thank you Dr. Brenner that was a healthy reminder. I think it's useful to have a discipline to remind ourselves of certain known patterns of suffering to reduce the chances of falling into those often subtle & seductive traps.

S. Freud warned analysts against “excessive therapeutic zeal” (the furor sanandi—the fury to cure). Don’t push for quick fixes or act on your own need to help. Respect the patient’s pace, avoid acting out countertransference, maintain neutrality, and value gradual working-through over dramatic interventions. Real change is steady, not forced. Anna Freud later elaborated the concept of altruistic surrender as a defense in which the caregiver goes overboard to the extent of sacrificing their own needs almost completely. One can't help but wonder if it was part of their relationship as well. psychologytoday.com/us/blog/experi…
