Make It Count

Presidential events always center the spotlight on one person, but I chose a different perspective. While cameras focused on the President, I captured the workers, their quiet anticipation, their attention. Sometimes the real story lives just outside the center.

He has risen. While in Brazil, standing by Guanabara Bay in the afternoon, I watched light break through the clouds above Christ the Redeemer statue. It did not feel like a tourist moment. It felt like a reminder, that even in the darkest skies, light still finds a way through.

Built along the shores of Belém, this structure reflects the city’s deep connection to trade, culture, and colonial history. Its gothic-inspired towers and clock stand as a reminder of a time when this waterfront was a gateway to the Amazon. Belém, Brazil through my lens.
