Many online leftists are seemingly pushing state senator Troy Jackson as a replacement nominee for Graham Platner. Jackson, a former candidate for governor, appears to be the most Progressive out of the potential choices. Bernie Sanders backed his gubernatorial run.

I don’t think you understand most socialists do not believe in giving people sitting on their asses free anything. Benefits to socialism should only apply to the middle and working class. Not lazy people sitting at home trying to collect government handouts or illegal immigrants. We need full reform on the tax system that only benefits corporations at this point and not the father in Montana just trying to support his kids.

Slowly but surely the middle class is being decimated by corporations buying up housing, manipulating the healthcare premiums by eliminating group plans, and implementing AI into business practice eliminating good middle class jobs. Just until recently congress wants to act like corporations just started buying housing and wrote a bill thinking it is going to do something. I don’t agree with forcing everything to go public, but I do agree that socialism can if done correctly benefit the middle class before we get to the point of no return. We are not Cuba, Venezuela, or the USSR. We have the majority of the Fortune 500 companies in existence. It can be done correctly to benefit only the middle class. Because we are not on the right path right now. What we have now is a scam! How do we benefit but pay higher and higher premiums on everything, utility costs skyrocket, and energy costs are through the roof! Where are the lower interest rates it has been almost 2 years?!

Under socialism the ruling class benefits and everyone else starves. That’s how it always works. It’s the biggest scam in human history. The US built the largest middle class in human history. It’s been slowly decimated, but it’s not like socialist countries where everyone is poor.

My big question is- Why have Republicans gone so far to brainwashing a single mother or a dad working as a plumber into thinking standing up for the ultra wealthy benefits them. I am still die hard MAGA, but I don’t see enough happening personally to reduce prices or help domestically. My belief is to stand up for the middle and working class. To be honest I don’t care about the ultra wealthy, and I hate to break it to you, they don’t care about you either. I stand for anything that supports the middle and working class in America, not the lazy poor or ultra wealthy. If we raise taxes 4 percent on the ultra wealthy, we could pay for tax credits applies to the electrician or plumber in Iowa or Grocery store clerk in Georgia and pay for healthcare premiums. Take that excessive bourdon off working Americans. Do you just want working Americans to suffer? Trump even threatened to raise taxes on the ultra wealthy! Trump has more socialist ideas than you think, just listen to more speeches!

@middleclasssoci The real question is: How much of someone else's wages, wealth, and money do you think you're entitled to? You want to tax millionaires/billionaires/trillionaires more to fund medical credits and attack Big Pharma. But the top 1% already pay ~40% of federal income taxes while earning ~22% of income. Top 10% pay ~72%. Bottom 50% pay ~3%. Wealth is mostly created through voluntary exchange and innovation—not extracted from workers. US companies fund the lion's share of global pharma R&D because markets reward it. Heavier forced redistribution distorts incentives and shrinks the pie. How much more do you claim a right to take? And where does that entitlement stop?

Those countries did not succeed because those countries did not have the majority of the fortune 500 companies in the world. They also believed in medical and free for all that is not the idea of middle class socialism. Middle class socialism believes in taxing millionaires, billionaires and trillionaires to fund tax credits for medical premiums for working class Americans, who can barely afford to pay for their medical insurance while also using government by attacking big Pharma and destroying their lobbying groups in Congress there is no middle class worker in America that will agree that their medical insurance is great insurance. The reason being is that big Pharma has destroyed our medical system by allowing us to be the largest contributor in research and development for pharmaceuticals in the world. We foot the bill for all other countries and research and development. We have a system now that benefits, the ultra wealthy way more than it benefits an electrician in the middle of Oklahoma, trying to feed his family, but can only use the standard deduction because his electricity bill or his cable bill does not qualify for a deduction similar to what the ultra wealthy are able to use and reduce their tax liability to nothing. Many companies that exist nowadays give their employees steak in the business in terms of stocks and bonds, even grocery stores, such as Redners. It can happen without the USSR type of socialism and communism that everyone is scared of. it is more of a policy driven type of system more than it is the form of government. Just ask yourself could it be better without having the ability to make it better?
