I am using chessever.com this evening to follow the games from Tashkent. A great feature is that you can swipe between the games!

The English invitees to the XTX London Classic are Vitiugov, Jones, Adams and McShane.
Vitiugov has come from Ukraine, no problem. I have the utmost respect for the other 3, but Adams is 50+ and McShane is 40+ (and not even a serious chess player).
Where are our young players??

@GMJacobAagaard Not seen it yet, but would expect anything by Khalifman to be very good indeed. His posts on social media are usually intriguing and rather deeper than is the norm.

@GMJacobAagaard Ivan raises a very interesting point here: to score a norm, you need a diverse field in terms of federations. Tudor could score 9/9 and still not make a norm because he only played Indians (could be any federation). And he probably went to UAE precisely for this diversity...

Running the latest Stockfish to analyse in Chessbase is causing many rather odd problems on my laptop. Freezes and black screens and now interfering with an image editing program Paint.net. Is this a known issue? Have an RTX 4060, I'm thinking it might be that.
