Good morning & greetings from Dungog! It is now autumn but the colour hasn’t yet arrived. However, Mrs Python, who was taken away 4 care after some injuries, arrived home yesterday after 7 months. Very exciting. Voiceover Inc me telling Max the dog to stay away. #GardensHour

@GardensHour I will certainly be keeling you all updated. You’re right - a small garden is a lively thing. I admit I’ve got used to this rambling thing I’ve made here - so many spots to enjoy, sit etc. Different views from different spots. And able to plant many different things..😢

@midge_thomas That’s so exciting! A small garden is still a big project! Some may argue even bigger because you have to plan more carefully when you have less space. Can’t wait to see how this progresses and hope you’re able to keep #GardensHour updated.

Good morning #GardensHour! Greetings from Dungog. I’m working towards selling my beautiful garden and moving to a paddock 😱where I can have my horses with me. New - small - garden and lots of trees and shrubs to be planted. It’ll probably take longer than May but it’s under way.

@rosesukroses Yes, sadly leaving Mrs Python, Mr In-between & all the🌲snakes. Also “my” beautiful birds, the eagles that fly past & the other wildlife around & about. I’m sure there’ll be other birds (probably parrots and larger birds bc it’s much more open there) but I’ll plant to encourage

@Trinkle96619465 Yes Trinkle. I know I’ll have pangs probably quite often, as I look out on a paddock (pic) instead of my beautiful haven here. But as you say, the 🐎s will be in that paddock & I’ve already got over 20 little trees to plant & I’ll make a small new garden that’s easy to care for.

@midge_thomas Always exciting moving & you are doing it for your horses. It will be sad not to see the little cheeky birds lining up for treats though.

@GabyLynch9 Hi Gaby - I’m moving to 4 acres right on the edge of Dungog, so not far. It’s a new chapter having the horses with me. I will certainly miss the garden but it’s also a monster that’s run amok, & there’s no steps @ the new place. The “new” house is less than 1/2 the size of this

@GardensHour Since I’m moving, of course I’m taking lots of cuttings, including from the Brazilian Red-cloak, which also happens to be flowering. So we’ve scored a vase inside as well. I hope the cuttings strike, bc it’s a lovely thing. (Megaskepasma pachy-something-or-other)

@Trinkle96619465 Hi Trinkle! I have no desire to handle snakes but I love having the pythons & tree🐍in the garden; as I say, we leave them alone & they don’t bother us. I doubt there’ll be pythons at the new place - not enough 🌲& cover. But in years to come who knows, as I plant more trees…

@Trinkle96619465 I don’t want to handle them of course, and am always careful not to get too close bc they can move fast if provoked… but I love to see them around, they’re very beautiful. We respect them & they leave us alone. Here’s Mr In-Between lounging as well the day after she returned

@judy_cassells @GardensHour Of course:- I called for help b/c there was obviously something wrong with her skin. Not just normal shed. Turns out they think she’d got in a car engine 4 warmth cos she was burnt. She had antibiotic shots & cream then months of recovery/care. Here she is the next day lounging

@DollysGarden I hardly ever ride. I’m not making excuse (I admit I’m lazy!) but I can’t just put the saddle on one & go out - they’re joined at the hip & get V anxious if separated. But I love fooling around w/ them, teaching them stuff & I’ll get back 2 the carriage training when it’s cooler

@midge_thomas Mine is the same, Avrina. A smaller plot than yours but the weeds are horrendous and there is only so much my poor back can take! 🥴 Hope the horses are doing well. Do you ride them much? 🐎

A golden morning; hydrangea aspera (?) 1st flowers; Max leading the way 2 lunch; & I thought I wasn’t getting any grapefruits!! (out of season…?) Anyway, there’s always something to discover, certainly always something that needs doing and now it’s cooled down, no excuse not to.
