I am profoundly saddened to learn of the demise of Ms Rachel Wandetto, which happened this morning at the Kenyatta National Hospital following a heinous attack by a vile and intolerant group of people.
Her passing is deeply disturbing. No one deserves to be injured or killed for their political views or affiliation in this day and age. It should prick the conscience of those propagating politics of hate, violence and division.
When I visited Rachel in the hospital last evening, her face showed resilience and courage. It is quite unfortunate that she lost the fight.
We shall bring the perpetrators of this senseless act to book. Rachel will get justice. I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to her family and friends for this painful loss.
The government stands with you in this time of immense grief.
@aomenya@Railajunior be very careful. What do you mean by saying ODM was Raila's Party?
According to the constitution, a registered political party doesn't belong to any single person or community or region
2. Hundreds of people fought & died for ODM, they're more entitled to it than you
@Asamoh_ You need to understand the context in order to react. Mbadi meant where is Raila now to give us direction. He finished by saying we must chat our own path without Raila. Luis can’t keep on saying Raila said this, he said that it’s not relevant now he’s no more and Mbadi is right
@EPRAKenya has released its Press Release for the period 15th May to 14th June 2026 pursuant to Section 101(y) of the Petroleum Act, 2019. Super Petrol goes up by Ksh.16.65 and Diesel by Ksh.46.29 per litre. EPRA states that the landed cost of Diesel surged by 20.32% which means it has increased from US$1,073.82 to US$1,291.98 per cubic metre.
The Government has deployed Ksh.5 Billion from the Petroleum Development Levy Fund, a fund built from levies Kenyans already pay at the pump, to cushion Diesel and Kerosene. That cushion is clearly not enough. Of concern is that VAT on petroleum has now been pegged at 8% pursuant to Legal Notice No.70 of 15th April 2026, down from 16%. That reduction should have meaningfully softened these prices. Yet here we are. Two consecutive brutal cycles.
Kenyans have a right under Article 35 of the Constitution to interrogate every line of this document. The PDL Fund is public money. Its deployment must be transparent and accountable. We will keep watching.
On sensitive subjects such as fuel prices, education and healthcare, the President must make a clear distinction between politics and governance. After promising fuel prices will be stable for 3 months, Kenyans get very hurt when they find out EPRA has increased prices overnight.
@Dr_AustinOmondi Nobody fought for independence in Kenya. Not the maumau or Lancaster guys. The Europeans decided to leave on their own. Have you ever wondered why most African countries "gained their independence" in the '60s?
Linda Mwananchi of Jack Wamboka, Pauline Njoroge, Majimbo Kalasinga, Joshua Kimilu, Kanini Kega, the other lady who mocked Baba etc and other non-ODM members canNOT be referred to as ODM. Grandiose delusions.
Incoming Langata MP.
We are going to change the politics of this nation before attempting to change the politicians.I pity whoever will be vying against me because they must be ready for a paradigm shift in the ideas we bring to the market to sell to our people. #Helphasarrived
This nonsense must stop!
Turkana Tulow Oil wells was discovered by a man who was drilling borehole for his client.
When he took the sample to government lab for tests, the government minister summoned him, he was ordered to take geologists to that location, late on, he was chased away from site and the minister sold the rights to international company for drilling.
That was back during Kibaki government.
Some of you will never understand why Maseno School means the world to us.
When I tell you my mother has the best handwriting in the world, today I open my file for incontrovertible proof.
Maseno is celebrating 120 Years and we will be there no matter what.
@Author_Shilaho 3 bills, one on energy, one on sports, one on the office of the county printer bill
He has pushed several motions, including one abolishing parking fees in hospitals
Kenya is not lagging in development by accident it is being deliberately held back by corrupt, opaque deals that enrich a few while the country pays the price. We parade ourselves as a devolved nation, yet in reality, key industries are tightly controlled by cartels operating with political protection.
Look at the rice import sector. How does one company in Mombasa end up controlling access to importation by selling exemption codes to others? This is outright economic sabotage. Revenue that rightfully belongs to KRA and ultimately the Kenyan people is being siphoned into private pockets. That is not business; it is legalized looting. This must be confronted head-on. If we are serious about progress, we must dismantle these monopolies and end the capture of entire sectors by a connected few. Devolution cannot remain a slogan it must be enforced in practice by spreading industries like paper, cement, and agriculture across the country. Enough is enough. If we continue tolerating this, we are complicit in our own stagnation.
The Chief Architect of State Capture was non other than William Samoei Ruto. During UhuRuto-1, he mastered the art of State Capture where he held hostage State Officers and Parastatal Chiefs who delivered to him money in bags and briefcases. That was stopped by the HANDSHAKE.
Wacha niseme!
ODM must urgentky start the process of looking for a stand-in Party Leader to replace Dr Oburu whenever he’d not be able to personally lead party activities.
The top ODM leadership will kill Dr. Oburu by demanding that he fly in choppers all the time, affecting his well-being, and even not live his age.
New party leader must be groomed now or we fold the party and find new vehicle.
