@jaytovah_ But Eva basically got bonus points because of the backstory. She was terrified of spiders and did it anyway. They couldn’t not give it to her.

@nakedjockman @MrPitbull07 You should tip people in several industries. Hairdressers/barbers, drivers, babysitters, cleaning professionals… how do you not know this?
English

Everyone in the comments has the same rebuttal: if you can’t afford to tip, don’t eat out.
Why is mandatory tipping just relegated to the food industry?
Why don’t you tip the guy who changed your oil at the dealership?
Why don’t you tip your UPS or USPS or Amazon driver when they deliver mail or packages?
Why don’t you tip the cashier at the grocery or big box store?
Why don’t you tip flight attendants?
Why don’t you tip the worker who mixed your paint at Home Depot?
Some are paid a salary some work hourly. What’s the difference?
English

I paid a $169.29 breakfast bill and left the tip at $0. Not because I didn’t notice the line — but because tipping, for me, is still a personal choice, not a fixed charge.
The meal itself was fully paid for. The prices were set, the tax was added, and the total was clear. Covering that bill already supports the restaurant, its staff, and its operations. That part of the transaction was complete.
What made this moment uncomfortable wasn’t the math — it was the pressure that followed. Tipping used to be a way to say “thank you” when service stood out. Somewhere along the way, it shifted into an expectation that can feel detached from the actual experience.
Everyone comes in with different circumstances, different standards, and different limits. Respecting that choice — whatever the number — is part of keeping trust between customers and businesses. When that respect slips, so does the desire to come back.

@AngelMD1103 Don’t question or complain about DoorDash pay if you’re just going to keep using them. You have to speak with your money.

He pulled up to the quiet suburban house after driving 35 minutes in traffic, juggling three orders at once. The food was still hot, the drinks hadn’t spilled, and he even double-checked the extra sauces. When he completed the delivery and saw the total payout , $2.75 with no tip, something in him snapped. He threw his hands up, started ranting in his car, and recorded a furious video about “customers who don’t value drivers.” I get that tipping is technically optional, but in gig work it’s often the difference between profit and loss. At the same time, crashing out at someone’s doorstep only hurts your own reputation. Maybe the bigger question is: should platforms like DoorDash structure pay in a way that drivers don’t feel like they’re gambling on kindness every shift?
Was his reaction over the top… or was it the buildup of gas prices, long waits, and feeling invisible that finally pushed him there?

@suttonsroller Hearing her say “my father” is still such a gut punch. You can tell she never said that out loud.

@ClownWorld And if the driver proceeded, the dogs would’ve tore them apart… but let’s be more concerned about the package that you saw was 4 stops away.
English

Amazon driver walks up, sees two big dogs going crazy behind the gate, drops the package there and leaves.
Dogs tear it apart. Now the homeowner is blaming the driver for not bringing it to the door.
But if you know you’ve got big dogs and you’re expecting a delivery, isn’t that on you?
Who’s really at fault here?
English

@gotrice2024 He should’ve provided free pizza and drinks for the entire school. I mean what kind of federal government is he anyway?
English

Some parents was criticizing this teacher in Texas for throwing his students a pizza party. He gives all of his students a slice of pizza and a drink for free. However if they want more, he charges them $2 a slice and $1 a drink. At the end of the day, everyone in his class was able to enjoy a free piece of pizza and a drink. He bought extra to sell to make his money back and that’s where some parents had an issue. Do you feel he was trying to scam his students or was he just doing the best he can because many teachers don’t make allot?
