South Korea is avoiding this reality with North Korea, Japan is also avoiding this with China and Taiwan is now trying to avoid any fight with China despite the US support because, you know that the fight will only take place in these countries, not in the US. So it's better to live in harmony with your non aggressive neighbours by engaging them in diplomacy, instead of taking provocative approaches which the US is fond of, and also encourages its allies to employ.
