One entertaining thing from the redis fallout are the number of people realizing they can just add a table to their existing RDBMS and get most of (if not all) the benefits they had from redis without having a 2nd dependency

@creationix I thought the Volt was ideal for this scenario since the ICE engine could handle the longer trip while the short-range EV would handle all your around-town trips?

I need a fuel efficient vehicle for around town and short road trips (about 360 miles) a few times a month. There is a Chevy Volt EV for sale nearby at a great price, but I worry it will make that longer trip painful. For a similar price I can get a used Honda Insight

@cnorm35 @agencyoflearn All that said, anything beyond `order` clauses, like trying to filter all data by default or something, has led to nothing but trouble for me in the past.

@cnorm35 @agencyoflearn I've used it for things like customer choice order, and for maintaining the order of units/topics/pages in a course tree. Basically any place where a user can specify a particular order for some data, I'd consider it as an option.

@cnorm35 @agencyoflearn The only time I've ever felt comfortable using default_scope is just for sort order. Something like a table where we "always" want to order returned results by a field, like a priority order field.
