@cnorm35 @agencyoflearn All that said, anything beyond `order` clauses, like trying to filter all data by default or something, has led to nothing but trouble for me in the past.

@cnorm35 @agencyoflearn I've used it for things like customer choice order, and for maintaining the order of units/topics/pages in a course tree. Basically any place where a user can specify a particular order for some data, I'd consider it as an option.

@cnorm35 @agencyoflearn The only time I've ever felt comfortable using default_scope is just for sort order. Something like a table where we "always" want to order returned results by a field, like a priority order field.
