@gwern @FriedKielbasa Slight augment to this so I don't have to trust bash to not delete history: ~/.bash_profile: ``` PROMPT_COMMAND="history 1 >> ~/Dropbox/prompt-history.txt" alias allhistory='cat ~/Dropbox/prompt-history.txt' ``` Usage: `allhistory | grep thing_i_vaguely_remember`

Out today: short paper from me + colleagues on policy challenges at the AI research frontier. The paper (based on an event we co-ran with @GoogleDeepMind) explores foreseeable extensions of existing AI technologies, the risks they might pose, and what policymakers can do. 🧵:

So where does everyone share their data when they want to make it publicly available? Particularly environmental and/or remote sensing data? Asking for future me who will be wanting to share. #AcademicTwitter

I'll talk about some of our (@NoelCressie, @andrewzm, @bea_buks, @AtmosJennyF, among others) latest work on using observations of atmospheric CO2 to look for changes in the carbon cycle using techniques from both Bayesian statistics and atmospheric chemistry. 2/

I was thinking about making some stats-based jokes during my last presentation, but they were average 📊 (and maybe a bit mean)

@robertwiblin @tylercowen This might be an instance of a false dichotomy where growth must be either exponential or zero. Cubic growth (from expanding in all directions) would be pretty good!
