A compromise that would go a long way: minimum three-Test series for the WTC but offer the option to play those over four (extended) days for countries that make a loss when hosting. Absurd the disparity in Tests played between Root & Williamson within the same league structure.
The Final Word@Final_Word_Pod

"I hate two Test match series." Reigning WTC winners New Zealand have played just one series longer than two Tests since their victory in 2021 🏆 Could four-day Tests be the answer? ⏯️podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/dep…

Harry Brook’s all-format winter: 1190 runs off 1120 balls, average 54, strike rate 108. Incredible sustained excellence, never mind from a rookie. HT @TimdeLisle

Not one Indian writer, cricket or otherwise, has shown the appropriate level of anger / contempt for the sickening worship of Modi at the Ahmedabad Test. Fortunately, there's Gideon Haigh.

According to @FirdoseM, “South Africa have no Test cricket scheduled for the next nine months and only play two-Test series until 2026”. Hard to see how SA can create a world-beating team in those circumstances.
