I want us to sign Álvarez at all costs, and I genuinely believe it can happen. But what if it doesn't? What exactly is our Plan B? If we can't afford Álvarez, we're probably not affording Osimhen either. João Pedro looks unrealistic as well, with Chelsea reportedly unwilling to negotiate. Kane seems happy at Bayern, they don't want to sell, and even if they did, he'd cost a fortune in both transfer fee and wages while being on the older side. So who else is there? Am I missing someone? This is why I don't even like thinking about the possibility of the Álvarez deal collapsing. Once you start looking at the alternatives, it feels like a very dark road that I really don't want us to go down. Hopefully, we never have to.
