Instead of penalties, the basketball team found itself awash in confetti as national champions. Contrast the handling of UNC and Kansas with others who've faced stricter consequences for lesser offenses. For instance, when an Indiana basketball coach overstepped phone call limits to recruits, the NCAA swiftly imposed scholarship cuts and recruiting constraints. But powerhouses like UNC and Kansas? Their missteps are met with murmurs, lost in a chorus of undeserved praise. The NCAA stands exposed — an entity devoid of both moral spine and meaningful direction. By silently condoning such deceit, it cripples its own stature. This isn't just oversight—it's a dereliction of duty that looms ominously over the institution and the very essence of collegiate sports. In the NCAA, cheating is okay.
