The awful murders at an Islamic centre in San Diego is shocking but not surprising. Hatred towards Muslims has been normalised and often goes unchallenged. We can then hardly be surprised when hateful rhetoric turns deadly. We need our allies to speak up & stand alongside us.

We may be from different political parties, but I am proud of Sadiq Khan for having served ten years as Mayor of London. Sadiq is an example of a thriving multicultural society. Something the UK should be proud of, not try and distance themselves from or denigrate.
