Brian is a very fine actor who’s done extraordinary work. As a result, he’s been given a soapbox… which he shows no sign of climbing down from. Any time he wants to talk about it, I’m easy to find... I just don’t like [Method acting] being misrepresented to the extent it has been. I can’t think of a single commentator who’s gobbed off about the Method that has any understanding of how it works and the intention behind it," Day-Lewis told U.K.’s Big Issue. "They focus on, ‘Oh, he lived in a jail cell for six months.’ Those are the least important details... it pisses me off this whole ‘Oh, he went full Method’ thing. What the f*ck, you know? Chill. That’s a great run but Bart the Bear is #1 and there isn’t any other animal that’s close.
Don’t come at me with Bamboo Harvester (Mr. Ed) or all of the dolphins who played flipper. That’s small screen. It’s a admirable but it isn’t the movies.

It definitely helped me stay focused during the meetings. There is always a big chance for distractions if I have my laptop. Tons of emails I could catch up on or random people slacking me for whatever. Now I’m just a little too senior so I have to be available.

For the first few years at my corporate gig I only took a notepad into meetings. Occasionally I’d print a relevant slide or two but I’d never bring my laptop.
For whatever reason senior leadership always commented on it. They would often say it reminded them of their old bosses

Guy in one of my groups at a conference just absolutely rawdogged a meeting. No notepad, iPad or laptop. First name basis the with the c-suite. Sharpest questions in the group. Incredible stuff.

I ended up having to stop because it wasn’t sustainable. There were too many takeaways I’d have to type up from my notes. Additionally, since I was a low level employee they wanted me to make real time changes to documents and presentations.
It was a good run though
