@mycountryhome Thanks for the feedback! 2 points. We did not describe the demographics of Carroll County, but said that Cana is "close" to 100% white. Also, the Penrods' was the only home we visited (and I used the language they did when giving directions). But your larger point is well taken!

You say Carroll County VA might as well be 100% white - untrue! .44% may seem small - that's at least 128 people self identified as Black in the 2020 census (plus another 460 people identified as non-white). That's almost 600 people who's voices are missing from your story.
