Amorim told us from day one that the basics come before beauty. He knew players can’t master multiple systems without first understanding spacing, pressing, and discipline. That’s why he refused to change the formation prematurely, even when the board pushed him.
He wasn’t being stubborn — he was being principled.

What’s left is hunger which will come soon

Managers come and go but architects stays. Amorim is building something that outlives formations and fixtures.

I just want to understand one thing. Why were we constantly told we must suffer just to be told 13 months later that we can finally change our system? How can people who didn’t want to question the manager all of a sudden celebrate the change that Amorim outters demanded? What frustrates me the most is how quickly people forget where we were.
This club was 14th after 18 games last season.
Now we’re 5th after the same number of games.
Yet Ruben Amorim is treated like he’s dragging us backwards?
He’s dealing with injuries, a rebuild, new demands, and unrealistic expectations and still managing to improve performances, mentality and structure.
This fanbase cries for culture change but panics the moment it actually starts happening.
I trust Ruben. I trust the process. And I don’t care how unpopular that makes me. I’ll die on this hill if I have to.

@DalmarBluenose That’s fair enough. I’m not a huge fan of Russell but I do think he’s been the 2nd/3rd best driver over the course of the season. Think he’s a victim of recency bias in These rankings, he was immaculate for the first half of the season, on a similar level to Verstappen.
