@ReOpenChris lol this is the most stupidest plan. Don’t even think 3/5 of both chambers will agree. It HAS to be uniform. This crates non exempt properties that will skyrocket in cost. Nobody would even buy in Florida lol he’s totally playing politics. It’s sad.

🚨Governor DeSantis says homestead PROPERTY TAX ELIMINATION is STILL COMING. It will not be handled in next week’s special session but in a future session. All eyes are on the Florida House to get this done or there will be HELL TO PAY in November!

@florida_grand Landlords will pass the shifted tax burden straight through higher rents on non-exempt units. Small businesses get a $750k break... but the commercial properties that aren't small businesses will see their taxes skyrocket to make up the difference.

@florida_grand It’s cute on paper. But there’s a lot of bait a switch here. The non exempt units will skyrocket to make the difference. And the commercial properties that aren’t exempt will also see massive increases? It’s literally just a campaign slogan lol it’s not thought out at all.

@BobLonsberry Analogous to what Desantis is doing in FL: trying to change the laws to make non-residents pay more in property taxes. Difference is that FL is more fiscally prudent and is reducing taxes on citizens rather than raising them on non-residents. But underlying argument is the same.

Under this logic, I would presume Kathy Hochul is willing to pay Virginia income taxes because she, the New York governor, has oddly chosen to own a vacation home in the commonwealth of Virginia. Must be she couldn't find anyplace worth vacationing in New York.
Governor Kathy Hochul@GovKathyHochul

Too many ultra-wealthy second homes sit empty most of the year, part of our skyline but not part of this city. Anyone treating New York City like an investment should be contributing to what makes it valuable.

If the Republican candidate isn't Donalds or Fishback, I am open to Collins or Renner. I am not happy with Trump's submission to Israel's agenda, but I don't hate Israelis or Israel either. If you hate Israelis or anyone else, please unfollow me. Fishback is a total fraud.

My turn to share my unsolicited (but correct) opinion on this picture. Yes, it borrows from classical religious-style art— light, clouds, a central figure in white— but those elements aren’t exclusive to Jesus Christ. They’ve been used for centuries to signal authority, sacrifice, or restoration. If you actually look at what dominates the image, it’s not Christian symbolism— it’s American symbolism. The flag, soldiers, fighter jets, fireworks, and the Statue of Liberty place the scene firmly in a national, not biblical, context. And if this were meant to portray Jesus Christ, you’d expect the defining markers— crown of thorns, crucifixion imagery, stigmata. None of that is here. Even the act of healing isn’t uniquely Christ-like in art— it’s a broader symbol of leadership, intervention, or restoration in times of crisis. Political figures have long been depicted in elevated, almost mythic ways using this same visual language. At the end of the day, this is just political imagery using a familiar, almost sacred visual style to frame a leader as a symbol of strength and restoration. You can like it or not— but calling it a literal depiction of Jesus Christ is a stretch.

🚨BREAKING: In a jaw-dropping announcement, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has proposed a bold initiative to place a constitutional amendment on the November 2026 ballot, aiming to completely eliminate property taxes, which could save average families around $3,000 annually. Do you support this? YES or NO?

The GENIUS Act, signed by President Trump last year, established U.S. leadership on stablecoins. The CLARITY Act, also known as market structure legislation, would do the same for all other digital assets by providing clear rules of the road. Secretary Bessent is right: the time to act is now. Senate Banking, and then the full Senate, should pass market structure. I’m confident that they will. And then President Trump will sign this landmark bill into law.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent@SecScottBessent

Congress has spent the better part of half a decade trying to pass a framework to onshore the future of finance. It is time for @BankingGOP to hold a markup and send the CLARITY Act to President Trump’s desk. Senate time is precious, and now is the time to act.
