I can relate heavy because I’m not naturally the “put yourself out there” type. I’d rather just do the work well behind the scenes.
But I had to be honest with myself, if nobody can clearly tell what I do, how are the right opportunities even supposed to find me?

Somewhere along the way, I found out that I shy away from teaching (Polite way of saying 'hated it's 😑).
My grandfather was a headmaster, about five of my aunties own schools or are head of schools.
So, I understand the responsibility of impacting truthful information for the students benefit.
Teachers play the most important role after your parents and family and most people can attribute a portion of their success to a particular teacher.
I didn't want that responsibility, but tonight? Speaking and conversing with my Mentees, I felt a smidge of satisfaction my Aunt's usually explained.
I ended the class with the widest smile on my face knowing I've helped them grow a little.
I love teaching Storytelling in Marketing.
Would you like to join my class?

“Shoutout to my mentor @Dedonmerciy for not letting me get away with anything🥺
Been at this for weeks, doing the work, showed up to today’s session thinking I was fine.
She showed me otherwise 😭😭😭I am humbled, motivated and ready to go harder. No more hiding in the back

In 2020, I met a British actress on IG.
She DM’d me saying,
“Chinese websites steal your photos and advertise it like theirs and I almost bought from them… but then I saw your faint watermark and that’s how I searched for your page & found you.”
I laughed and told her not to worry, it’s a regular occurrence, as all the ali express wig vendors loved stealing my content as theirs .
We ended up chatting back and forth like long lost friends… and like an hour later she picked 2 wigs about £300+ including shipping.

I studied Digital Marketing for 18 months, six of those months was spent learning in London.
I just realized something after reflecting on my experience this evening.
I spent all that time, in classes, learning,
• theories
• definitions
• frameworks
• exams
In the real world, clients only care about:
• leads
• sales
• ROI
• “Did this campaign make us money or not?”
No one has ever asked me: “What’s the definition of a marketing channel?”
They ask: “Can you bring us customers this month?”
That gap bothered me.
So I changed how I teach.
Now, even inside my course (not just my workshops), my students:
• run real campaigns
• build actual social media strategies
• analyze live data
• create content for real brands
• solve business problems, not textbook questions.
Because marketing is not something you memorize. It’s something you DO.
My goal isn’t to help them pass exams. It’s to make sure they can get hired… or start something of their own.

Yesterday I got an internship opportunity and I’m honestly really excited about it.
Not just because of the opportunity itself, but because of what it represents for me.
For a long time I was at a job I didn’t enjoy but fear of starting over wasn’t letting me leave.
Recently I made a decision to start again in a direction I truly want and this time, not to stay quiet about it.
Posting more.
Engaging more.
Speaking up when I can.
Offering help where I can. Applying and cold emailing aggressively.
It’s only been about 5days of doing that intentionally, and this opportunity already came.
Still early.
Still learning.
But definitely encouraged.
Sometimes the first step is simply deciding to show up.

I’ve written extensively about freelancing and growing on Fiverr, Upwork, and through cold emailing.
But lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of narratives about LinkedIn on Twitter that I think need correcting, especially from a freelancer’s perspective.
I want to show why LinkedIn can be more powerful than all the traditional freelancing platforms combined.
This will be FREe and real, practical knowledge from someone who has trained freelancers to use LinkedIn as a client acquisition platform. No fluff. Trust me
Interested?
