Sounds like a strong argument…What are your thoughts? Are there any ways to compromise eg giving an old basic phone rather than a smartphone? Do apps where you can monitor your child’s phone use work well?
Gerry🧠🌱@gerrydiamond71

“The day you give your kids a phone, Is the day their childhood ends” They will become less engaged in the world around them, And more consumed by the online world . This is also detrimental to the brain development & offers NO benefits to young children.🧠🌱

Look beneath the behaviour of our young people and understand, what are they trying to tell us?. What are the issues we need to resolve that will help them.Remember, this behaviour might be to do with their own internal struggle.🧠🌱

It doesn’t take much to make kids feel special… Look them in the eye.  Smile at them.  Talk to them individually.  Be curious about THEM.  Be sincere.

Well done @MiSPcharity and Esther Ghey. At Haslingden High School we believe in prioritising mental health and all Year 7 students are introduced to mindfulness and cover the MISP .breathe course, with opportunities to learn more throughout their time at school.

Looking through a lens and understanding, what is happening to the biology of these stressed young people . Children are becoming more distressed and in greater need of relationships, reassurance, and co-regulation.🧠🌱

If a young person you are working with begins to feel their breath getting quicker and out of control, use this activity to help them slow down their breathing and calm down.

Here are the books on Attachment that are available in all Timpsons shop, written & promoted by family of @JamesTCobbler .That's the knowledge at the heart of his approach to prisons. Understanding the biology of childhood trauma is central to actual justice. @TraumaAwareLaw

Watch this it’s fascinating - I asked James Timpson what he’d do about prisons and sentencing if he was in charge. He believes only a third of prisoners in jail should definitely be there. He’s now in charge of prisons (but not sentencing).
