Frontier models aren’t really needed for everyday, repetitive tasks. Anthropic could focus on legal, security, safety and financials, while developers can access Codex and Claude code, like Sonnet. For simpler tasks, open-source models are usually sufficient. That said, QQQ is still a great ETF to hold onto, especially with semiconductors or similar investments.
Rihard Jarc@RihardJarc

The semi-space is extremely crowded both from retail and institutional investors right now. AI is not stopping, and as you know, I am a big believer in AI and had a significant part of my portfolio in semis, but I have lowered my semi exposure substantially across the board, as excitement is outpacing reality right now. Yes, we will need more chips to power AI. At the same time, enormous optimizations are and will continue to happen on all levels of token consumption, from end clients on how they use these models more efficiently to AI model companies and hyperscalers optimizing hardware with software to squeeze significantly more from existing compute and pricing their services accordingly. The amount of spending that the main compute buyers can do on an annual basis is also reaching its limits, and that growth won't accelerate indefinitely, especially as the market is not rewarding many of these higher CapEx decisions. I also don't believe that, in the long run, most economic tasks will be handled by the top frontier model. Companies hiring human workers, for example, in customer service, don't look for PhDs — they're overqualified and too expensive for work with limited economic value. The same logic applies to model deployment. And because frontier progress is moving so fast, the capability overhang on older models keeps widening, leaving them more than capable for an ever-larger share of tasks. The valuations of many of the semiconductor companies on paper don't look expensive, but the real catch is in the margins, which are historically high and in the long-term will normalize, especially as we can see that competition/alternatives are heating up in a lot of places down the chain. Sales volumes can and will go up, but that doesn't mean profits will go up; keep that in mind.

Many pitch the EB-5 as the ultimate escape from H-1B handcuffs, but for high-skilled folks, the math tells a different story. If you had put that $800,000 into the Magnificent 7 in 2022 instead of a low-yield regional center project, your portfolio would be worth roughly $2.4M today. By choosing the visa path, you aren't just "investing" $800k, you are paying a $1.6M "Freedom Tax" in forfeited gains. Worse yet, EB-5 capital to be "at risk," meaning your principal isn't even guaranteed. In an uncertain job market, liquid wealth is a more powerful safety net than a card. Don't let immigration anxiety blind you to the fact that wealth itself is the ultimate form of freedom. Investing for accumulation secures your future; investing for a visa might just deplete it. Many temp visa holders understand this and not fall for these..

2 things- People who have GC/ Citizenship, they are not coming back period People who have H1Bs and cant afford EB5 have to come back - whether they like it or not Plus Students going to US/ anywhere else have gone down I would argue we have a talent deluge & lesser opportunities ( not brain drain issue) + on a long enough time arc- Forex pressure due to lower remittances We better create opportunties, else we would face a forex risk to start with

Mega Family is often proactive on these matters, but now they appear to be completely silent. This clearly shows that film actors are not gods; the audience should treat them as entertainers, not demigods.
Rahul Ramakrishna@eyrahul

All the shrill cine-cats have gone quiet now. No loud calls for swift justice, encounter-policing, performative moral outrage, tweet barrage from any corner of the film fraternity. Utthappudu ayithe andharu pululu, simhalu, vetagaallu.. iga ippudu endhuko moogaboyyinaru mari

Bandi Bageerath POCSO Case Update: 96 Hours After Looks like despite vernacular media going mute, blind and deaf plus losing all the mental capacity to think & act responsibly, the Telangana Congress Government has come under immense pressure. Social media showed its power in this case. Even on social media, a lot of paid content was pushed. Much worse, the details of the victim including her photos and videos have been widely shared. But, public anger was visible. They were properly informed & definitely well aware. Looks like, Telangana police just a while ago revised the original FIR, owing to this severe public pressure. The FIR registered on 8th May, had only Sections 74 and 75 and Sections 11 read with 12 of the POCSO Act. The sections only covered sexual harassment offences with maximum sentence of three to five years. The altered FIR now has Section 5(I) read with Section 6 of the POCSO Act. Invoking Section 5. The charges are now aggravated penetrative sexual assault. Section 5(I) of POSCO refers to penetrative sexual assault causing survivors severe bodily harm and injury or injury to the sexual organs of the child. Under Section 6 attracts a minimum of 20 years rigorous imprisonment, extendable to life imprisonment. Once proved Bandi Bageerath can be in jail for the rest of his life! Personally, I think he deserves strictest punishment possible. Men like him deserve to be behind the bars. Police say the change in sections happened after speaking to the rape survivor today afternoon. They finally realised the gravity of the offence committed by Union Minister of Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay’s son Bandi Bageerath. But, I have read the complaint copy filed on 8th May 10pm, the contents were horrific then too. Whoever filed the FIR deliberately did a botched job. And I think there was substantial evidence to back the assault on the minor child. Another important factor could be the interim bail petition that was filed before the vacation bench today. One of the arguments was how the sections filed would only attract 3 to 5 years maximum punishment and hence Bageerath deserves a bail. Public anger is so high in this case. If at any point Bandi Bageerath gets a bail on 14th May 2026, they would come on streets. It would go beyond control for the government. It is just the first step. A lot more needs to happen in this case. Hoping the tribulations of the victim’s family come to an end soon. Hoping they find justice and peace soon. They have endured a LOT already. Meanwhile! Don’t stop questioning. Especially when in comes to grievous offences like POCSO. Bandi Bageerath was given a notice to appear before the police tomorrow for investigation. Is he in the country, will he appear, will the media question - let’s see.

The Great Exit from Indian equities is moving at record speed as foreign investors dump stocks faster than ever before. While 2025 saw a massive ₹1.6 lakh crore outflow over the entire year, 2026 has already seen ₹2.1 lakh crore exit in just over four months. This historic sell-off is due to surging oil prices and Rupee, leaving domestic retail investors and their monthly SIPs as the only thing holding the line. We are witnessing a fundamental shift in market ownership in real-time.

More than getting FIRED, having a meaningful relationship with family and extended is much more important. Money will make things easier but having right family keep things going meaningfully

Kimi (Sparse): Imagine a library with 1,000 experts, but when you ask a question, only 2 experts wake up to answer. You only pay for those 2 people's time. This is called a "sparse" model. It’s huge but very cheap to run. Anthropic (Dense): Imagine a room with 10 world-class professors. When you ask a question, all 10 professors discuss it together to give you the most "perfect" answer. Because they are all working at once, it costs much more to pay them.

Claude Opus 4.7 costs $5.00 per million input tokens and $25.00 per million output tokens. Kimi K2.6 costs $0.80 input and $3.60 output. That's 7x cheaper; for a model that benchmarks on par with Opus 4.7 across SWE-Bench, Terminal-Bench, and real-world agentic coding tasks. Not "good enough for a cheaper model." Actually competitive. In some tasks, better.
