The world is seriously preparing for a fuel shortage (regardless of whether or not it happens). But apart from a gentle "use less" message, it's business as usual in #SriLanka. No shame in issuing a stronger message. It's not a political defeat.

@Police The #EasterAttacks is a trial that's of public interest. Transparency is essential. I have heard that others, including families of accused, have also been stopped from observing proceedings in open courts. This could affect fair trial, which is also bad for aggrieved parties

Today I was prevented by @police from observing hearings at special trial at bar (open court) on #EasterAttacks. Police said its on order of judges, but refused to show such an order. Also said media can only cover if they posses a "media ID" & that national ID is not sufficient

As a female doctor, it took a lot of guts to put my face out there & start a social media channel on sexual medicine. Pleasantly surprised by the overwhelming positive response from the public. My inbox is overflowing. One thing is very clear: Sri Lanka badly needs age-appropriate sex education!

I always say not to condone for others, what you do not wish for your own child. This is the same type of racism we see perpetuated against Palestinians. People like this are not mentally healthy.

A major reform to the 1951 Muslim Marriage and Divorce Act (MMDA) has been proposed by MP Faiszer Musthapha. Sri Lanka desperately needs proper sex education. Just look at how people are responding to what happened on social media. This gov. needs to step up and stop the clergy from implementing much needed reforms.

Afraid that when i explain all this i may come across as attention seeking or lying, or just annoying & a real party pooper for having an illness that everyone needs to tolerate But I'm learning that it is ok if they see me as difficult. I don't owe anyone palatable suffering

I am heavily medicated and my medicines cause me to be drowsy and fatigued in general. I have been afraid that setting boundaries and asking for things to accommodate my condition can make me come across as a demanding and uncompromising person.

My baseline is different cause of my medical condition. What looks like small things to others take a lot more from me physically & neurologically. There’s a quiet cruelty in having an “invisible” illness.
