We spend a lot of time trying to solve problems, when we don't really understand the nature of the problem in the first place. As a result, we may implement solutions that fail because they don't address the underlying issues. So this resource "The Problem Framing Canvas" from @Centre4SysInnov is super-helpful: griffith.edu.au/__data/assets/…. Thank you @tom_geraghty for the link

After a week-long break, I will be starting in two exciting part-time roles. The transition has brought with it an opportunity to reflect on some of our achievements over the last year in my previous capacity as a psychological workforce lead at @MaudsleyNHS (1/18)

Organisations can no longer rely on top-down problem solving. As leaders, we have to build a culture of learning & adaptability; to bring many, diverse perspectives to challenges, to feel safe to experiment & fail, to keep learning along the way:qaspire.com/2022/07/06/lea… By @tnvora

In an increasingly virtual/hybrid world, leaders can no longer rely on hierarchical power. It just doesn't work as well. We need to 1) develop our relational power 2) identify & support the relational influencers 3) consider the tools we need sloanreview.mit.edu/article/relati… @InnovisorInc

We're all getting used to the new reality of hybrid meetings, where some people take part in-person & others are virtual & remote. We have to learn new ways to run/lead meetings. Here's an excellent checklist for effective hybrid meetings from @OutstandUK: @garinrouch/your-essential-checklist-for-effective-hybrid-meetings-b77df93641ca" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">medium.com/@garinrouch/yo…

A "real team" is a small group of people with complementary skills, committed to a shared purpose, who succeed or fail together & hold each other accountable. Most teams aren't real teams; they're working groups or teams-in-name-only: strategy-business.com/article/Teamin… Via @stratandbiz

The "anti-noise" movement is growing in leadership circles. "Noise" means all the unwanted sound & mental stimulation that gets in the way of our ability to do what matters to us in the world. Responses include "no email Fridays" & "no meeting Wednesdays: hbr.org/2022/05/how-to…
