Btw, the .aseprite source for the character used in the kit is in the release binaries. It’s mapped to the AnimationPlayer states, so you can just reskin it and the animations will still trigger correctly in-game. Enjoy! 🤝

Fixed jerky camera. Added basic use item system & fade in transition for level transition. Some of the code implementations are still messy & fuzzy. But seeing them working no matter how little is a sight to be hold. Grateful 🙏 #GodotEngine #indiedev #gamedev #retro #2d #pixel

@minus981f The way the camera jerks back to center every time you stop moving actually makes me motion sick. I recommend you leave the camera where it’s at when you stop moving or at least let it slowly drift back. Look into nonlinear easing techniques.

Making sense of how UI, data, and logic gels in game dev are wild. Took me a week of signal mess refactors before finally getting my UIManager to render the right UI with the right data at the right interaction. Learned tons from this experience. #gamedev #indiedev #GodotEngine

Reminding myself to always add minimum 1px of empty spaces around my sprite if I want to use outline shader. Been spending days creating interactables only to find that my outline shader didn't work for sprites that are located on the edge of the sheets 🥲. Game dev's tough love

One small step in the right direction. I sure hope so. First time using ShapeCast2D for interactions and updating layers & masks in runtime. LightOccluder2D usage here is my personal happy accidents. Interaction UI next? #pixelart #pixelgame #gamedev #GodotEngine #indiedev
