As a little update, dad wasn’t having a heart attack….. he’s tested positive for Covid 💔💔💔

#BringBackMasks My dads LTC home called 5 times last night all through the night. Had chest pain (he has 2 blockages they can’t operate on as he’d not survive). They gave him nitro, Dilaudid for pain, repeated nitro. Sugars were 29. They were terrified to send him to the ER. 1/

Apparently there’s another #LTC announcement today. I’ll keep you posted once I find out more…

Love seeing my students using orthographic mapping independently! They are turning into readers 😊 @RSHWDSB

After learning about coding, students were able to create their own mazes and create a code to get from start to finish #whballardiscoding

Our class has been using orthographic mapping as a fun way to use phonics to sound out words. I love watching my students remembering their words “by heart” 💜 @RSHWDSB

Our class has been working on segmenting. Building phonological awareness is so important to build literacy and reading skills. We are so proud of our students becoming readers and writers 😊 @RSHWDSB

To celebrate Pink Shirt Day, our class read “What does it mean to be kind?” We then discussed ways that we can be kind to one another and make sure that everyone feels included 💖 #kindness

Our students are progressing! Using the Milestones document, we have given them new activities to consolidate their skills 📚 😊 @RSHWDSB

Our class read “Whoever You Are” today. We had a great discussion on the importance of acceptance and individuality 📚 😊

We have been focusing on surveys in our class. One of our students decided to survey our class and wanted to know how many students in our class liked dinosaurs 🦕 😊

Using the Milestones document, we have created literacy bags to support our learners by consolidating their skills, as well as identifying their next steps during 1:1 instruction 😊📚 @RSHWDSB #earlyliteracy

We have been working on sorting beginning sounds in our classroom. Our class really enjoys using the Alphabet Soup when trying to identify the beginning sound in a word 😊
