Sigh. My ticket is likely going to expire before my bus arrives. In fact, it would have already expired except that my first bus didn't have a working tap meter. I started this saga at about 13:00 at Rideau at Nelson. I'm still not home in Orleans. I did 0 side quest on the way

Norway v England is the World Cup QF's only match where both countries lost important battles to Scotland in the 13th century. King Haakon's claim on Scotland effectively ended in 1263 when he was defeated at Largs. In 1297, King Edward Longshanks was beaten by William Wallace. Stay tuned for more cutting-edge, geography(ish)-based World Cup analysis.

"Nice bridge. It would be a shame if it burned down, exploded, or - God forbid - somebody got thrown off it, you know what I mean. Some of the local bridges are taking the precaution of contributing to a neighborhood protective fund run by the Don and his men."

The deal is basically built around Canada kicking the equivalent of half of toll operating profit to a U.S.-controlled regional development fund for 15 years, per officials. The underlying Canada-Michigan deal doesn’t change, we’re told. Story with @btaplatt and @DavidWelch47.

Sky should sue Farage for this clear defamation. Firstly, they knocked on the door of one of 5 houses OWNED BY NIGEL FARAGE, not his daugher, that Farage has taken publicity shots outside. Sky approached the property once, without a camera operator, identified themselves as Sky News, and the adult occupant, not his daughter, chose not to engage. Sky did not see, interact with, or speak to Farage's daughter yet Farage stated that his daughter was harassed by Sky.
Reform UK@reformparty_uk

Sky News’ treatment of Nigel Farage’s family was appalling and a clear breach of the Broadcasting Code. Read Lee Anderson’s letter to the Chief Executive of OfCom. 👇

The soldiers were hit with rocks. They responded with tear gas, warning shots from their rifles and hitting with the butts of their rifles. The confrontation left 22 soldiers and 75 Kanyen'kehà:ka (including children as young as five) injured. 📸 Christopher J. Morris 🧵 12/16

By the 1950s, the original 687 square-kilometres that the Kanyen'kehà:ka had was reduced to only six square kilometres. In 1961, a nine-hole golf course was expanded onto the land. Over the next two decades, their land claims were rejected. 📸 Kanawaki Golf Club 🧵 4/16

On July 11, 1990, the Kanehsatà:ke Resistance (Oka Crisis) began. Sparked by a proposed golf course expansion onto a Kanyen'kehà:ka burial ground, the protest lasted for 78 days and changed Canadian history. This is what happened. 📸 Robert Galbraith 🧵 1/16

In a hotel room in northeast Nigeria, I opened a leading AI chatbot, turned my laptop toward a former Boko Haram commander, and asked if he'd used it. He nodded. "You type in the question… like 'How can I build a bomb?', and then it tells you how. It is like a human robot. We used it a lot." My new study on how the jihadist terrorist group Boko Haram uses frontier AI with @CamAISciPolicy, covered today in @nytimes 🧵/9
