It’s weird bc my mom said as a child her mom told her and her sisters eating vegetables would give you curly hair bc that was seen as ideal to them

Ppl just stopped feeling pressured to flat iron their hair to “fit in.” Lots of white ppl have always had wavy/curly hair but in the 90s-early 2000s everyone felt like you had to have pin straight hair to look “put together.”
