the key difference is that it isn't an adaptation as much as an expansion. that's what makes it good.

i say this like every time. the games that it "works for" are superfluous because it's supposed to be the opposite-- a cinematic experience that's interactive. now you just removed the interactive part.

I’m so tired of people declaring perfectly normal literary techniques “bad writing”. 1st person pov isn’t bad. Dual pov isn’t bad. Prologues aren’t bad. Dream sequences aren’t bad. These are all tools. People need to stop confusing personal preferences with objective critique
