In hindsight, the MySpace "neon cartoon monster merch" aesthetic held up really well.
Trends aside, these are just legitimately really good illustrations that were a perfect fit for the vibe of that era.
Lots of great artists from that scene, but two of my favorites:
- Michael Shantz, who did a lot of the early stuff for Drop Dead
- Mike Cortada aka Mike C Hardcore who did stuff for ADTR and a million other bands
Both are still doing great work, and are active on IG ( grimjob69 and mikechardcore )
