Our attendance lead uses a student success discussion (SSD) to identify any attendance issues and aim to help eradicate any issues. Done with the child and agreed actions to give them control and reviewed. Aimed to stop any concerns spiralling

@mschalkandtalk@teach_smith@Team_English1@MrTs_NQTs@FunkyPedagogy I have just finished a Teaching English in Multilingual Classrooms course and would recommend looking into nominalisation to help them move from active to passive voice. Get them to colour code the nouns, verbs and adverbs in a text. DM me if you’d like resources!

Teaching @boburnham's 'Inside' as a BoW for Y12 IBDP Eng LangLit A. 'The World's Wife' is the anchor Lit text and @caitlinmoran's 'Moranifesto' 2nd BoW. Gl: Identity. Limited Bo resources around so have made booklet of lit, lyrics and stills for students to annotate- DM for copy.

It's Friday! It's been a short but busy half-term here. Y10s have been exploring more anthology poems and revising for end of year exams, whilst DP1 students have been learning graphic novel features and annotating passages from Persepolis! What have your students been up to?
