***NOT BREAKING NEWS*** Teachers have to take an interest in ALL kids. Not just the “good” kids. Not just the ones who never get in trouble. Not just the one who make good grades. ALL kids. Kids know when you don’t. They feel it. Never make a kid feel like that. @SteeleThoughts

Whole books are important...not extracts, not chapters, whole books. The best children’s books are laced with clues about the whole story. They drop nuggets that become moments of realisation later on. For children to be truly captured by books we have to share the whole thing...

Encouraging students to share their answers with the class not only boosts their confidence, but assists their struggling peers by exposing them to new ways of thinking and more efficient strategies #twentytimesthree #acuedu_p

Homework is perhaps one of the most misused strategies in K–12 classrooms; it is too often assigned as a matter of routine. Here are strategies to assign it purposefully. #NASOT

Whenever I discuss the need for change in our education system, I'm reminded of these words; 'The world as we have created it, is a process of our thinking. It cannot be changed without changing our thinking.' - Albert Einstein

My ES1 students love this alternative hands-on activity for practising letter formation. Students just shake the tray after each use, and using a deep tray helps make less of a mess #acuedu_p

Here’s an ingenious idea via @ArnoldLodgeNews - making stapled pockets for test papers to keep them with books and record bits of feedback.
