It’s the end of our Nurture sessions this term. The child have come on in confidence and developed their turn taking and listening skills 💚 We’ve had groups for maths and literacy development and aim to build on these more in the Summer terms #nurture #communication #development

In today’s Time to Talk we looked and talked about action words…but we aren’t ones to sit around 😄😄The group performed the actions perfectly 🏊‍♀️ 🏃‍♀️ 🕺 🍽 , even learning some new actions with a song 🎶 🎿 💋 👌 💪 🔔 🦸‍♂️

We had some great conversations about feelings playing the identifying emotions game. When they moved on an emotion picture, they thought about a time they have felt this way. They then shared this with the rest of the group…fantastic effort ⭐️⭐️ #identifyingemotions #sharing

In our Time to Talk session this week we really homed in our the children’s great listening skills. They enthusiastically took part in action songs, each taking turn to be Teacher 🧑🏽‍🏫👩🏽‍🏫 and give instructions 🎭. #timetotalk #goodlisteningskills #interactions

Our Time to Talk session focused on emotions 😃😞The children were given scenarios and asked to think and share their thoughts on how the character would feel. #TimeToTalk #ChildrensMentalHealthWeek We learnt a poem and the children enthusiastically joined in with the actions.

With their confidence growing weekly, they can now refer back to the text to find the evidence independently 🖤💚 We looked at the new vocabulary and discussed what they thought it meant. They did an amazing job at orally summarising too…Great work boys 💚🖤

In Nurture this week, the children developed their ability to recognise a numeral and match it with the correct amount of cubes. They then learned strategies to count on from a given number. It’s great to see them getting more and more confident each week 🔢🧮✨
