@misstmalcolm @LauraLolder The @EngMediaCentre study edition has lots of relevant contextual information woven into the material. 'Relevant' & 'woven in' are key. To support our Year 11 students in their exam preparation, we have carefully designed a set of text-specific flashcards featuring key quotations. Each flashcard includes tailored analysis pitched precisely at Grades 4–5 and Grades 7–9. Another productive weekend ☺️

This morning I visited the picket line at West Coventry Academy: one of 20 schools in the Arthur Terry Learning Partnership where NEU members are on strike. Over 100 jobs are under threat after plans to cut 10% of staff, following no internal financial audit, £1.8m spent on four executives and a 24% top slice from school budgets. This isn’t just about one Trust. It’s a stark example of how academisation is failing schools, staff and students. Labour continues with this failed Tory education policy — but staff are fighting back and standing up for their students, their communities and the future of education.
