So I just learned that The Mask comics has possibly one of the earliest Sailor Moon references in western media

@Ryrytunes @retrosofa Yes! I had the R movie subtitled on VHS! Moon Revenge perfectly synced to the animation was such an awakening

@retrosofa @missxseashell The Japanese endings are like all my fave songs. And while the transformation DiC music is iconic, nothing could prepare me for seeing Sailor Moon R with subtitles LOL. I became a new human on that day LOL it is SO fucking good. LOL

It would be nice if we discussed the old Sailor Moon dub beyond “omg they made them cousins.”

@retrosofa I generally prefer the Japanese music, but gotta give DiC flowers for My Only Love, Carry On, and Power of Love. Sailor Moon’s transformation theme too
