I'd honestly be ok if you guys can point me to an artist who you have compensated financially in a significant way over the years. Someone we can talk to who will say "Yes, @UgandaPRS helped me". Otherwise it seems you guys are set up to erect barriers rather than build bridges.

@UgandaPRS @misterdeejayug I see no reason why we can't have two competing organisations. Forgive my ignorance, but if there actually is a law on the books against it, that's anti-competetive and stupid. The US has both BMI and ASCAP collecting on behalf of their artists. Why should it not work here?

@UgandaPRS needs competition. A small, nimble organisation built from the artists' point of view rather than from lawyers' point of view. I know managing artists' interests on a national scale is no easy task. But competition will help them.

Currently perusing the @UgandaPRS website. Discovering what they REALLY do for artists. They still have tariff listings for audio cassettes and latest news is from February 2020. Doesn't inspire confidence, does it? Reading their memorandum of association now to find out more.

Urban TV once had a show called TheJumpOff. Probably the only show I watched on Urban religiously. It was hosted by @misterdeejayug & I think produced by @djbushbaby or @JoshTheFixer. Dope content.👌 The TV's rebranding shld focus on reviving such programing. @mrwamiti

@KeyaNemesis Seems there is little trust in @UgandaPRS amongst artists. Are these the guys who led the @KCCAUG operation to close down bars that weren't paying their ridiculous licencing fee sometime back? If so, this organisation is all about top-down thinking, not growing the industry.
