Decade ago, Indians were told that Harvard doesn't matter, hard work does! And, now this 👇 Disclaimer: The one who said decade ago and the one saying now aren't the same. But it is amusing to see how Indians convince themselves in unusual ways. Truth's secondary!

Okay uncle!
Hardeep Singh Puri@HardeepSPuri

International crude prices have gone through the roof in the last 1 month from around 70 dollars/barrel to around 122 dollars/barrel. Consequently, petrol and diesel prices for consumers have gone up all over the world. Prices have increased by around 30%-50% in South East Asian countries, 30% in North American countries, 20% in Europe and 50% in African countries. The Modi Government had two choices- either increase prices drastically for citizens of Bharat as all other nations have done or bear the brunt on its finances so that Indian citizen is insulated from international volatility. Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi Ji, in keeping with his Government’s commitment of last 4 years since the conflict in Russia-Ukraine started, decided to take a hit on its own finances again to safeguard the Indian citizen. Government has taken a huge hit on it taxation revenues to ensure very high losses of oil companies (approximately 24 Rs/litre for petrol and 30 Rs/litre for diesel) at this time of sky high international prices are reduced. At the same time, export tax has been levied as international prices of petrol and diesel have skyrocketed and any refinery exporting to foreign nations will have to pay export tax. My gratitude to Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi Ji and Hon’ble FM @nsitharaman Ji for this very timely, bold and visionary decision!

Indians are hell bent on destroying whatever rational thinking is left... The only dystopian solution is a disease that affects 140Cr. Either we vanish from the face of earth and let Pseudo-science wither with us.
TheLiverDoc™@theliverdoc

Good morning. My day did not start well. I received a distressing email from a young doctor. "Dear Dr Abby, I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the recent introduction of an MD program in Ayurveda (MD Ayurveda Manovigyan Evam Manasa Roga) at NIMHANS, an institution widely regarded as a premier center for evidence-based psychiatric and neuroscientific education. Despite sending multiple emails to authorities including the National Medical Commission Chairman, Directorate of Medical Education Karnataka, Karnataka Medical Council, the Director and Dean of NIMHANS, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the Indian Medical Association, I have unfortunately not received any response yet. This development raises serious concerns among practitioners of evidence-based medicine. Integrating fundamentally different systems of medicine, particularly within a premier national institute, risks blurring the line between scientifically validated practices and non-evidence-based approaches. If such initiatives continue unchecked, it may gradually influence other medical institutions across the country. I am particularly concerned about the apparent lack of response or intervention from the Indian Medical Association. As a representative body of modern medicine practitioners, IMA’s role in addressing such critical issues is essential. I sincerely hope you will consider taking this matter forward and help safeguard the standards of evidence-based medical education in India. Thank you." Now, I cannot stop the Government from destroying what the scientific community has built over decades. It is easy for them to do this - to showcase nationalism, civilizational, traditional and cultural pride - to appeal to emotions of the people - to maintain a vote bank from a certain section of the population. But such acts slowly and steadily, erode scientific temperament and damage reputation of major institutions and demean/downgrade medical and research output from India. NIMHANS has always been a big target for pseudoscience infiltration and they are systematically taking over, in the name of integrative medicine. I understand the active and current faculty and leadership at NIMHANS are castrated from voicing concerns, but I call out to the Alumni and the strong general medical bodies in Karnataka/India to prevent such courses from getting legitimacy in colleges of repute - because tomorrow, an Ayurvedic quack will proudly show a certificate of graduation from NIMHANS, similar to a DM or Mch graduate from the same institution. This is an insult to the scientific community who shed blood and tears to get into and complete gruelling training programs at NIMHANS. Please tag the medical organizations who you think will have the balls to take this up. An MD course in Ayurveda should be isolated to All India Institute of Ayurveda and such third-rate institutions and not an institute of repute like NIMHANS. As examples, I have attached excerpts from Ayurvedic teaching syllabus on "Ayurveda Psychiatry" and what these so-called "MD Ayurveda" graduates learn. Tell me, is the promotion of this primitive, primal, inhumane, misogynistic, nauseating history of medicine past worth it?

Frodo leaving the Shire is one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking endings in all of literature. He won. The Ring was destroyed. The Shire was saved. And he couldn't stay. Not because he didn't want to. But because the journey cost him more than anyone around him could see. He carried the weight of the world's evil on his body and soul, and even though the Ring was gone, the scars weren't. That's Tolkien writing the truest thing he ever wrote: some suffering in this life cannot be healed in this life. There are wounds - spiritual, physical, emotional - that only eternity can restore. Frodo’s departure isn’t a sad ending, it’s the hope of heaven for someone who gave everything and was broken by it. It's about the promise that what was broken will be made whole. Just not here. And not yet.

if you showed this chart to a typical economist like 20 years ago, they would've laughed you out of the room. the right side of this is white collar jobs that were once worshipped. these jobs were comfortable, well paying, & came with societal status + recognition. your parents would’ve been proud of you. now these are likely all set to be severely impacted in a shorter period of time than anyone likely ever thought of let alone projected. this is like ppl waiting on a beach enjoying the sun when a tsunami has already struck.

@agneevX @decode_dev Common fallacy. The internet by design is decentralized yet clustered by design. Your local provider is eventually gonna connect to some mainstream ISP like Jio or Airtel. Local provider is about last-mile connectivity and not about true independence!

Freaking cool to see this extensive work on DNS Blocking in India. Tech-savvy peeps : Get a powerful router, flash it with OpenWRT. Since most of the Indian ISP routers use TR-069 protocol in their firmware.
Karan Saini@Squeal

Excited to share “Poisoned Wells,” which presents the largest point-in-time study of website blocking in India to date. I tested the blocking of 294 million apex domains across six Indian ISPs, sending 1.76 billion DNS queries in total.

@ChadSigmaRizz @decode_dev Only three choices: - Configure your devices to use Google or CloudFlare's DNS. Still prone to upstream issue. - Fully switch to VPN. Easy but expensive. - Setup your own DNS server so, your machine never ends up using your ISP DNS sserver. Cheap but needs expertise.

@ChadSigmaRizz @decode_dev I live in Maharashtra and my family has three connections from different providers. None of them support custom modems. In fact, it is so deeply integrated that they can control your model remotely - from restart to applying new configuration.

This is like saying Nehru used to wear Modi jacket. What Indians are attributing today is something called NAM - Non-aligned movement, envisioned when the credited guy in the photo was likely <12 years old. And, we are safe because supposedly weakest PM signed nuclear treaty.

So much for digital India, AI, double AI and what not!!! I consider myself lucky that I never relied on these apps. The only time I need a messaging app is when my kid is going outstation. And, now this forces me to create a dedicated account for him.
DealBee Deals@DealBeeOfficial

🚨SIM binding for messaging apps becomes mandatory from 1st March 2026 in India and the govt has refused to extend the deadline... - Apps like WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal & others will only work if your registered SIM is physically present in your phone... - Web/desktop logins must auto-logout every 6 hours unless re-authenticated.

This is just a tip of the iceberg. So many legit well known websites are banned in India without any reasoning. There is no public database to check if the website is blocked. My ISP always gave a "ministry" excuse. At one time, namecheap was blocked for a year by my ISP.

Dear @prisma team, new `prisma-client` shipping up with v7 should also support plain old ESM `JS` output with `*.d.ts` type definitions. Not all project use TypeScript, Bundler or compiler. The behavior of `prisma-client-js` should have been retained.

Indians have some really rational thinking to do that goes beyond their perceived fandom because: - NOTA is useless. - Isn't the BJP now filled with more former Congress folks? If yes, then do they oppose ideology or the people?
