@JMincone Mostly due to differences in hip anatomy. Japanese pitchers tend to favor hip internal rotation (IR) because of their hip structure which creates this knee-to-knee drive down the mound. With most countries, you see a more vertical sit into the back leg using ER

I honestly don’t understand why everyone on the planet pitches one way, then Japanese pitchers have their own thing going on, mechanically. Has anyone done the research into this?
