Complaints of Star Trek being “too preachy” always make me laugh. This is the franchise where Kirk literally read out the US Constitution out to yell at aliens for not being inclusive enough in applying it. But ya know, gay Klingons are unrealistic.

@jessiegender If Trek continues to drive men away by ignoring canon, preaching to us, and creating characters that can’t exist, and treating men like they don’t exist then you’ll get to have it all to yourself. You’ll never hit the numbers necessary to get to syndication & it will die forever.

@HAHazony yeah like now people are just having traumatic teen sex in their 20s and its even worse than the sht we went through. boning in a park bush might become a weird and unpleasant memory but the real problem is we're so ashamed of sexuality, the only exposure kids have to it is porn.

This is an incredibly dumb take. Anthony assumes teen sex is down because people have rediscovered family values.
The truth is that sex is down because society is becoming increasingly androgynous, neurotic, sanitized, and isolated.
Less sex is just a symptom of decay.

🧵Teens not having sex is actually a great trend! Teen sex is more like a rite of trauma. I’ve spent 30 years processing abuse & sexual trauma with college students because of high school dating. Sexually active breakups feel like divorce. Parents are very naive teen sex lives!

@notThatAlxJones @Cykalol_cl @orphcorp back when i worked, i would come home to a screaming match and him threatening suicide. was no closer to owning a home or being independent, and i was unable to be there for him when he needed me. capitalism means i suffer either way. but its better to work for one boss than two.

@Cykalol_cl @orphcorp it's definitely not a cost-free path. the people i live with are awful, i have no money, and i can't leave. but i am still much happier not working. the phrase "skill issue" was in response to op's assertion that suffering is innate and constant regardless of circumstances.

@mitsugazer @orphcorp Just, for their sake and your own future, don't think it's a sacrifice-less path. Everyone would like to stay at home doing hobbies or travel at will to their preferred events.

@Cykalol_cl @orphcorp I live with family and don't pay rent. My circumstances allow me to do this, I know. But that's my point. It's not "the human condition." I still suffer, sure, but it's not the same kind of suffering as when I worked for a living. Nowhere close.
