A typical day in the UK You wake up in a house you paid tax to buy, then pay council tax every month to live in. You turn on the TV, which is taxed & you pay to watch it You drive a heavily taxed car, fill it with taxed petrol, pay insurance tax & congestion charges, to go to work Where you pay 50% income to tax & NI (tax) You buy something & it’s 20% VAT after you just paid 50% to earn it. You want a holiday? Airport & flight & hotel taxes Cigarettes & alcohol are taxed & then when you die, 40% inheritance tax No wonder everyone is leaving for Dubai

Let’s be honest… The Online Safety Act has NOTHING to do with safety. It’s about surveillance. Censorship. Control. Britain just became the most heavily policed internet state in the West. This isn’t protection. It’s a digital dystopia.

In September I turn 30. The same age as my dad when I was born. It’s made me think about the drop in living standards in one generation. On a fireman’s salary he could afford a 4 bed semi in a leafy part of Manchester. He had two kids (5 and new born), now almost completely unheard of. Most turning 30 today will probably never have that. You’re renting for longer and having kids is off the table until you’re 30+. The gap between wages and house prices means you simply can’t get there on a normal salary. It’s why building homes is so important. Taxes now fall so heavily on work, making it that much harder to build a nest egg. The average guy turning thirty aspires to a house, family and some savings. These are modest asks, but until politicians get serious about delivery, my generation will get angrier and angrier.

Has anyone noticed the rampant food inflation in the UK? In April I paid £9.40 for 2 organic rump steaks. The same steaks are now £12.60 Yet all reports are of 3% inflation Who are they kidding!
