Voting is the worst group project

@rebeccalehmann I’m at a loss. And when other departments are fine with AI—“It’s so efficient!!!”—our jobs are all the more difficult. I haven’t seen help/guidance coming either.

@rebeccalehmann My wife has gone analog, and it's a slog. Writing in journals in class, take 50 notebooks home to grade. But they still have to turn the papers in online, per uni policy. (#AssessmentMatters). So, still some questionable papers. Sigh.

From his first to his final call and all the memorable moments in between, The Voice will echo for generations to come.

@danmartin_7 I was halfway through a summer course when these changes were implemented. I was stunned; my students were confused. Ridiculous.

Canvas has made more changes and they are, of course, terrible. It's like they ask educators what they should do and then they do the opposite. The separate page to assign access for due dates & times is particularly annoying.

A real life lesson in not conflating narrator + author: 3 y.o., making up his own song: I love my mommy! I love my daddy! I love my mommy! I love my daddy! Me: I like your song. 3 y.o.: OK, but it’s not about us.

Derrida writes that “surviving is another word for mourning,” and I can’t stop thinking about this w/r/t the dismantling of the liberal arts. The end of liberal arts curricula — and the rise of curricula that aspires to nothing beyond a paycheck — is the death of hope.
