@JWinters489 From what I understand, the issue is bringing the Mid-South Coliseum to required ADA standards, which makes remodeling it cost-prohibitive. Tearing down and rebuilding on site would make sense only if there was a ready-made tenant.

I think once the Liberty Bowl renovations are complete, the University of Memphis should take a serious look at the Mid-South Coliseum. Transform it into an 8,000-seat arena for Tigers men’s and women’s basketball, while keeping the bigger games at FedExForum. #GoTigers

Without Googling — can you name the backup QB on your favorite NFL team the last time they played in a Super Bowl? 🏈🤔 No cheating. No looking it up. Drop your answer and let's see who really knows their team. GO.

Middle America families stuck in the biggest Ponzi scheme of all time that is travel baseball. Baseball needs Legion Ball played at high school fields in t-shirts and gray pants more than ever right now.

Sandlot it ain't. Youth sports now $40 B industry: "Teenagers on travel teams are rolling into weekend tournaments wearing a few thousand dollars of apparel, equipment & swag. Avg family spending on baseball increased nearly 70% between 2019 and 2024." wsj.com/business/retai…

Youth baseball 50 years ago: you got a cap and a tee shirt. The toughskin jeans came straight from Sears and you had to provide those yourself.

If I asked you to pick a back up catcher for a team, use past or present who you got. Backup catcher such as important element in the game especially years ago and they get no love. As a Mets fan I would pick Todd Pratt but that’s too easy so I’ll go with Eddie Perez who u got ?

@R_Brauninger They don’t realize it, but they may well be contributing to the decline of overall interest in baseball. Separating “elite” athletes at that early of an age creates the real risk of “non-elite” players abandoning the game and losing interest in it forever.

Why the hate on Ken Anderson? There things: 1) Recency bias - people think if it didn’t happen recently it never happened; 2) Anti-Bengal bias; 3) A (very selective) bias toward Super Bowl winners - which they hold against him but not Fouts, Moon, Kelly, etc.

Sporting News columnist, Mike DeCourcy @tsnmike, had a passionate defense of 1981 NFL MVP Kenny Anderson’s Hall of Fame case, using a unique statistical angle. Standards have been lowered, which makes me not care an awful lot about stats, but the “fame" element hurts him.

Roger Craig, Ken Anderson and LC Greenwood are not Hall of Famers. One or more of them will join an ever-expanding group of players with no business in the Pro Football HOF. Exclusivity is essential for greatness. Who you leave out stamps those you let in as great.

In the 1970s, this was the home the average American lived in. Stay-at home mom, live-in maid and six kids all on an architect's salary. Plus vacations in Hawaii and the Grand Canyon.
