A junior staff in my office dièd last year. Just three days before his death, he sold a piece of land to pay for his wife’s bride price.
He told me that his wife wanted to use the entire money about ₦800k to buy clothes, shoes, and a new phone for the event.
I advised him to keep ₦400k aside and told his wife he was owing someone, so she should manage the remaining ₦400k.
He sent the ₦400k to me for safekeeping.
On the third day, while going to his wife’s village to drop some wine, he had an accîdent on his way back and passed away.
When the office invited his wife to discuss bûrial arrangements, I told her that her husband’s money was with me. I immediately transferred the ₦400k to her.
