As the Wake County traditional school calendar begins, more buses will be on the roads. The Raleigh Police Department reminds drivers about the rules of stopped school buses. Safety on our roads is our priority!

Standards need to be re-written. They're .9 miles wide and 1 ¼ inches deep. Need to be written by folks who have taught children. Imagine that!

@gregtangmath The math curriculum timelines in Texas don’t give kids enough time to chew on what they learn. Kids need repetitious practice, but there just isn’t time, at least not in Texas. The TEKS are just too full. Every elementary grade needs streamlining.

Today, every member of the NC General Assembly was invited to participate in the inaugural “Bring Your Legislator to School Day” on Monday May 15th. We invited every NC senator and representative to take some time on May 15th to visit a school district in their jurisdiction. We have had amazing feedback so far and many legislators have already registered to participate! I am on board a Delta flight right now. The person sitting next to me in first class refused $100,000 to remove her mask for the entire flight. No joke. This was after I explained they don’t work. She works for a pharma company.
