BREAKING: A son in law of one of the North West governors reportedly spent the night in police custody over an alleged N460 million fraud case. According to sources, the young man allegedly approached a businessman claiming he had secured a $3 million contract to provide forex for Hajj operations in the state. Using the story, he reportedly convinced the businessman to release N460 million as investment into the deal. After collecting the money, he allegedly ceased communication and stopped taking the businessman’s calls. The businessman later petitioned both the EFCC and the Nigeria Police Force in an attempt to recover his money, leading to the suspect’s arrest and detention. This is an opportunity for me to sincerely thank you for your thoughtful message, Dakta @Lonnewulff. A lot of people on this platform have misunderstood me, including you at some point, but I promise you, I am not a bad person. My understanding of politics is that, it is a learning center. It teaches lessons, whether willingly or otherwise and every experience comes with its own wisdom. Truly, I am not desperate to become an elected representative. If that was my primary ambition, I would have joined the NNPP in 2022 when I was offered an automatic ticket. Even today, I can confidently say that I enjoy tremendous goodwill from my constituents, enough for me to believe I can win a general election even under an opposition platform. However, I still have confidence in the APC, the party I joined in 2013 from the CPC bloc. That loyalty and belief are among the reasons I have not joined the Kwankwasiyya political movement, despite the goodwill and encouragement many of its members continue to show me, and I thank them for that sincerely. At the end of the day, politics should not destroy relationships of any kind. So we will continue to learn, grow and contribute positively in whatever way we can.
