@Desertsensai A4 again by asking pointed questions that foster discussion and not just rhetoric responses. I take time to sit in and watch student engagement in class so I can understand the dynamics and offer ideas
@kestrel3141 Good point. Multiple levels. You can have strong local teams but without top down support change/meaningful result is difficult to achieve
@Desertsensai@kestrel3141 A3. Encourage and facilitate participation through explicit questioning. Pointedly asking parents and participants what they would like to see vs questions that only elicit yes/no answers
@Desertsensai A2 #DESIGNING4INCLUSION I like the idea of check points and systematic analysis of traditional barriers as well as unique needs across settings including specials maybe especially specials and electives
@Desertsensai I would like to think that the paradigm is shifting. Some school campuses are more progressive and attuned or experienced than others. Some communities are open and onboard to learning and embracing inclusive learning
#Designing4Inclusion A4 I think collaborative staffings and checkpoints during IEPs where the team can pause and reflect to ensure that we are truly addressing inclusion is important
It’s going by fast!!! Thank you for your insight!! Here is Q3!
What questions could we ask at an IEP meeting to ensure that an inclusive mindset guides our decisions?
Be sure to use A3 in your response and #designing4inclusion
#designing4inclusion A2. I would like to think that I bring a mindset that is naturally creative, collaborative and one that looks not only at accessible environments but environments that are naturally inclusive
@mmena2r19#DESIGNING4INCLUSION A1-I am not sure what resources our District has for inclusion. I am a PT and so this is not wholly germane to me although I do like being informed about everything related to access
Here we go!!!!! So let's get started! This is the first of 4 questions to be posted 11/18.
Be sure to use A1 when responding and include #Designing4Inclusion
Share the inclusion and ISL resources available at your district and with your ESC.
#designing4inclusion
#Designing4Inclusion A3 begin with the end in mind. More team collaboration and communication. Push in to specials and other classes to observe and identify areas where support is needed
#designing4inclusion A2- lessons and activities created around peer support as a foundational requirement for them to be completed and with priority on social supports.
#Designing4Inclusion A2. I am a PT and spend a lot of time working with gen Ed staff to provide training, education and support for a myriad of identified access barriers. I don’t limit my support to just physical motot
#designing4inclusion- frequently asking parents and students questions about their goals with in the community and how we can best support them in this path.
#Designing4Inclusion I prefer to staff prior to IEPs to ensure that we are working collaboratively and addressing how and where we can support inclusion
