Aneesah Morrow has been traded to the Toronto Tempo, the Connecticut Sun announced. The Sun have acquired the rights to forward Maria Kliundikova and the Tempo’s 2028 second round pick.

The insanity keeps getting louder. The narratives keep getting stranger, and the attacks on the WNBA and its players seem to have no end in sight. In its 30-year history, it's hard to imagine the league ever expected to find itself here—knee-deep in baseless allegations, criticized by Republican lawmakers, and watching fans tag the FBI demanding investigations into two players sharing a playful moment during All-Star Weekend. Some have even called for players to be "banned for life." The list of absurdities just keeps growing. Did the WNBA ever think it would have to investigate claims like these and issue a public statement explaining its conclusions? Probably not. Yet here we are. We were told the league needed more eyes. Those eyes are certainly watching—but too often with contempt rather than appreciation. There are people who seem to despise the WNBA, what it represents, and many of the athletes who have built it. Black players, in particular, have frequently borne the brunt of the hostility, with some also directing homophobic abuse at players regardless of whether they are lesbian or straight. The people fueling this behavior come from different backgrounds, different walks of life, and different political beliefs. But many appear to share two things: an intense devotion to Caitlin Clark and a deep hostility toward many of the league's Black players. Some will insist these people represent only a tiny fraction of her fan base. That they are just trolls. Perhaps some are. But after watching this pattern repeat itself over and over, that explanation feels increasingly inadequate. They are loud, relentless, and determined to dominate conversations around a league that existed long before Caitlin Clark ever stepped onto a WNBA court. Unfortunately, athletes don't get to choose their fans. For some, Caitlin Clark has become a rallying point that emboldens behavior they might never have displayed so openly before. Basketball fouls become conspiracy theories. Routine competition becomes evidence of corruption. Players become targets for racist and homophobic abuse. A hard foul in a basketball game is treated as though it demands a criminal investigation. What should be a celebration of one of the most talented eras in WNBA history is too often drowned out by manufactured outrage. That may be the most frustrating part of all.

Pete Rose was one of the greatest players to ever play Major League Baseball. He is the all time hits leader with 4,256. Rose was banned from MLB for life for betting on games, including those he played in. He died at 83 without ever being reinstated or inducted into the hall of fame. Angel Reese just admitted to doing the exact same thing. But, instead of giving her a Rose-style punishment, the WNBA scrubbed evidence from the internet and downplayed the seriousness. Why is Angel Reese being given a free pass by the woke WNBA?
