🎯 The Volume NEVER lies.. Here is smthn beneath the radar of many traders and @SonicLabs fudders. 🕛 Past 24 hours, the 13th largest token by mcap, $HYPE, did $380m trade on a $15bn mcap. 🚀 Then there is $S, still an undervalued baby, doing nearly half of that with less exchanges and 8% of the market cap. You might call me a hopeless $S romantic, a shill.. I get it. But, the volume never lies!

Ultra-low latencies are possible, but innovations are needed for consensus, block processing, including the virtual machine and database, as well as the RPC interfaces (for querying historical state). This year, we are planning the successor to Sonic, which we aim to deploy in 2-3 years. We are considering questions such as what kinds of technologies can provide ultra-low latency for real-world transactions (as opposed to theoretical ones), with the goal of achieving 10 billion transactions per day. We welcome feedback from the community, understanding their needs regarding performance. We will also deploy a better-performing consensus protocol for the Sonic client in one of the next releases. Besides all these technical advances, we see that dApps are struggling with even the current speed of Sonic. For example, Graph queries of a dApp cannot keep up with the speed of the Sonic blockchain. To me, faster dApp technologies are required before we can have a meaningful discussion about the next generation of ultra-fast L1 blockchains. You mentioned L2s - I don't think that there is a place for L2s outside the Ethereum ecosystem at the moment. In my opinion, L2s are merely a temporary solution for the shortcomings of Ethereum today. L2s seemed to be fast, but their actual time to finality can take days/week (rollups, etc). I don't see a need for L2s for existing dApps, as state-of-the-art chains like Sonic achieve the performance of L2s with sub-second finality and super high transaction throughput.
