A very sweet lawyer in a FB group asked if anyone wanted some suits she was getting rid of. They were my size and my favorite brand! I asked if I could pay her and she said “I like champagne.” Yes!!! It makes the suits so much more fun knowing I traded champagne for them!! 🍾🥂

Former Colleton County clerk of court Becky Hill is set to be indicted this morning for perjury, according to the state newspaper. I used to think that there was very little chance that our South Carolina Supreme Court would reverse former Chief Justice Jean Toal’s decision in February 2024 when she denied Alex Murdaugh a new trial on his double murder conviction because of Becky Hill alleged jury interference. I thought that if he was to get any relief, it would come after he exhausted his state court appeals and it would be on the federal level. According to the State Paper, the perjury charge arises out of her testimony that she gave in the February 2024 hearing in front of Justice Toal. I think this further complicates the situation and increases the chances that he will get a reversal and a new trial. It still will come down to whether the federal standard for alleged jury tampering should have been applied by Justice Toal or she was correct in applying the state standard. Remember 11 of the jury said that nothing that Becky Hill did or didn’t do had any effect on their verdict. This is now getting very interesting. EB

Two years ago my friend Addie Isbell Strozier and I went to photograph some favorite spots in the Low Country and also wanted to go see in person a day at the Alex Murdaugh trial. We got sucked in quick to the circus that surrounded us and other than getting to go into the courtroom at the trial we both heavily documented everything around us in a photojournalistic way and even got some video...never knowing what we would really do with it other than to document the craziness we saw around us. What was so interesting to me, well us both, was the ACUTAL people we met...from all over who some had traveled great distance to come see this court case unfold live. We made REAL friends with people we STILL keep in touch with. Waiting in line, getting to know people and even some we already knew...it fascinated us at the bond some of us made. Well - here we are two years later...after a lot of ups and downs since then... we got picked up by Prime! To those who think we didnt have any business sharing our part of OUR story...keep scrolling and keep it to yourself. For those who are our family, friends, and who truly know are hearts....and are interested in True Crime...I think you will like this first season of Trial Watchers . I resonated with WHY I felt the way I did that first day in that courtroom...it opened up a lot of memories for me and it took me back....and reminded me of compassion, and justice, and the system, and the victims, and the families.... everyone has a story....and I learned so much about myself, and others on this journey.
