@MazherArshad So the SR debate his reached ODI as well now. How is a SR of 85 bad for a middle-order batsman in ODIs??

Rizwan wasn’t dropped due to lack of runs. The concerns were his low SR and reluctance to bat outside No. 4. Flexible in foreign leagues, but for Pakistan he always sticks to fixed roles in T20Is and ODIs. Imo, he is still an ideal keeper-batter for WC 2027 but he must adapt.

Biggest stakeholder of the game 🏏 after country name are players as they play inside the ground. Credit & responsibility wise. Last 4 ICC events results & Test format decline are real. Some serious issues are there to resolve by administration @TheRealPCB

@faizanlakhani How do the players mysteriously get injured all of a sudden? Or does the selection committee not have the guts to defend their decisions, so they label the players as injured instead of dropped

BREAKING: Pakistan openers Fakhar Zaman and Saim Ayub have been ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia, starting May 30, after the PCB confirmed both are still recovering from injuries. The duo will continue rehabilitation under the PCB medical panel, with further squad updates expected in due course.

@michaelscottfc Which green top wickets did Wasim, Waqar, etc. used to bowl on? EACH of them played almost twice as much of the test matches shaheen and naseem have played (combined).

Pakistan have lost 6 away Tests in a row. Their last away win was nearly 3 years ago in Sri Lanka.

Like this move by Pakistan to promote Salman Agha to five, the highest position he has batted in his Test career. This could become his permanent position if Pakistan continue with three lefties at the top even after Babar Azam returns. Saud Shakeel can bat at six.

Congrats to @HHKingsmen on making the final in their inaugural season. Big shoutout to Fawad Sarwar sb , who honestly is one of the coolest guys. I remember when I asked for the squad extension to 22; he was the first to reply saying no issues at all. Then when one team requested to change their pool last minute again without any fuss was like cool go ahead. The win today is a reflection of their never say die attitude. Congrats to @marnus3cricket and team. Hoping for another great game. Good luck to @PeshawarZalmi as well! Sunday beckons to be a wonderful day for Pakistan cricket.

@MazherArshad No, the idea was flawed. Retiring a set batter for a tailender/bowling allrounder on tough wicket where you need time to settle was stupidity. It would have been a good idea if Azam, Khushdil or Moeen were to come next

Karachi Kings’ decision to retire out Saad Baig deserves appreciation on multiple fronts. For one, they showed the courage to adopt a tactic that is increasingly relevant in modern day cricket but still seen as taboo in Pakistan’s cricketing culture. Credit to the young Saad Baig as well for putting the team first and not letting ego get in the way. Some may point to the fact that Karachi didn’t add many runs after his retirement but that doesn’t invalidate the decision. If a player (Abbas Afridi in this case) fails to execute a plan, it doesn’t mean the plan itself was flawed. Afridi is a decent hitter and recently won Karachi a match too, against Lahore, with his batting so there was a proper rationale behind that decision. Sport is full of strategies that don’t always come off but their occasional failure doesn’t make them wrong. The intent and thinking behind them still hold value. Full credit to Ravi Bopara, Moeen Ali, Haider Azhar and Saad Baig for challenging convention and embracing a move that could well become the norm in the years to come. Retiring out is a tactic in team’s interest and shouldn’t be seen as an insult to a batter.

🚨 Saad Baig was retired by the Karachi Kings after he was playing too slow..! - We've been seeing this for the last couple of years happening with the batters for playing slow in T20s. 👀
