Valid point. Funny you didn’t use Trudeau and/or Carney to make the same point about liberal leaders. For example, nothing exudes certainty like Trudeau’s cancelling of the F-35 contract Harper’s government negotiated, just because. Then years later, reversing that decision at hugely increased taxpayer costs. Only to have Carney threaten to again cancel the contract in favour of an EU competitor. Yup! the liberal government is renowned for honoring Canada’s commitments and demonstrating that a Canadian signature on an international agreement is ironclad. Liberal hypocrisy is astounding . It knows no bounds.
David Frum@davidfrum

One lesson of the Trump years: the US signature on an international agreement is worthless. There was an agreement in place to govern the bridge. Trump repudiated the agreement at behest of a donor with a direct anti-public-interest stake.

Reminder of how we got here on the Howe Bridge. Opposition from special interests in Michigan meant Harper agreed in 2012 to fund the project or it wouldnt get built. Always relied on US honouring the deal, Trump didn’t, he had leverage, here we are. windsorstar.com/news/local-new…

For the past 5 years I've been on the Nano polling group. They send me a poll and pay me $5 to participate. However, about the time this miscreant was running for office, Nanos STOPPED asking me! They knew from my answers that I can't stand even being in the same room as a liberal. My opinions don't fit their marketing agenda. Nanos is NOT a pollster. They are a marketing firm disguised as a public poll. The fact that Nanos can only pull 60% from a highly targeted group speaks volumes. The hate for this PM and his party must be over the top! Nano is little more than a "distillery for Liberal souls."

This is how they manufacture “public opinion.” They tell you “60% of Canadians think Mark Carney is doing a great job handling the economy.” What they don’t tell you? That “60% of Canadians” was actually **60% of roughly 1,051 people** polled by Nanos. One thousand people FFS 🤦🏻‍♂️ That’s not a national sample! That’s a focus group. At best they cherry-pick respondents who lean their way. At worst they just run the numbers until they get the headline they want. Meanwhile the real numbers are brutal: - 2 in 5 Canadians are struggling to put food on the table - 40% are losing sleep over how they’ll make ends meet - 60% feel anxiety when thinking about their personal finances But sure… tell us again how 1,051 carefully selected people speak for 41 million Canadians. ❌ This isn’t polling ♻️ This is narrative management dressed up as news! 🛑 Stop falling for it! #cdnpoli #MediaBias #Carney #PollingScam #CanadaFirst

@KatlynHarrison Perhaps. But Trump reneging on the initial deal given the leverage they had also says a lot of about how they’re approaching the bilateral relationship as well. Doesn’t absolve Carney from living up to his campaign promises, but team Trump is hardly an innocent party in all this

The bridge is a flashpoint because our government has actively undercut our relationship with the US admin. Had we rapidly advanced Fortress North America, approved pipelines, amassed strategic mineral reserves - we may not be here rationalizing our weakened state. #cdnpoli

PM defends bridge deal - the optics aren’t great, obviously. But, from the critics, what would you have done differently? Suppose we could have kept it shut and waited to see if midterm pressure might have softened Trump’s demands, but it would be generate 0 revenue in that case

Pierre is a threat to Carney’s scam in Canada that’s why they want Pierre gone. If Pierre wasn’t a threat to Carney they wouldn’t be so focused on him.
